About the role
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will provide strategic financial leadership for a healthcare organisation, overseeing financial planning, corporate finance, treasury, investment, risk management and business expansion. Reporting to the Managing Director and Board, the CFO will act as a key adviser to drive sustainable growth, profitability and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement the long‑term financial strategy and strengthen governance, controls and accountability.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance reporting, monitoring KPIs and cost‑optimisation opportunities.
- Design and execute corporate financing and capital‑raising programmes, negotiating with banks, investors and development finance institutions.
- Manage treasury operations, cash‑flow, liquidity, foreign‑exchange exposure and investment decisions.
- Oversee healthcare‑specific financial models, revenue optimisation with HMOs, insurers and other partners.
- Provide financial leadership for business expansion, mergers, acquisitions and strategic partnerships, including due diligence and feasibility studies.
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax, accounting and regulatory requirements, maintaining internal controls and audit coordination.
- Lead, develop and retain a high‑performing finance team across multiple locations.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field; Master’s or MBA required.
- Professional accounting qualification (ICAN, ACA, ACCA); CFA or CPA advantageous.
- Minimum 15 years progressive finance experience, including at least 7 years in senior finance leadership.
- Proven experience as CFO or Finance Director within the healthcare sector.
- Track record of raising at least USD 20 million in corporate funding.
- Demonstrated expertise in corporate finance, treasury, financial planning and business expansion.
