Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer will join Avest Microfinance Bank’s finance team in Lagos, supporting the preparation of accurate financial records and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role offers exposure to a dynamic financial services environment and a blend of on‑site and remote work days.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations.
• Support financial statement preparation in line with IFRS.
• Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis.
• Monitor expenses and ensure compliance with approved budgets.
• Ensure compliance with CBN, NDIC, and other regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Maintain proper documentation of financial records.
• Assist in tax computation and statutory remittances.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualification (ICAN/ACCA) or in progress is an advantage.
• 2–4 years of experience in finance/accounting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication skills and high ethical standards.
