Finance Manager – Abuja, Nigeria

About the role

The Norwegian Refugee Council is seeking a Finance Manager for its Abuja office to lead financial planning, analysis and resource allocation, ensuring compliance with organisational standards and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of finance policies, procedures, strategies and initiatives across the country office.
• Provide line management for finance staff, including performance management, recruitment, induction and development.
• Develop and maintain country financial documents, procedures, guidance and tools, ensuring consistency with organisational standards.
• Maintain overall budget control, monitor cash flows and ensure budgeting, accounting and year‑end processes comply with NRC policies and donor requirements.
• Train and develop NRC staff and partners on financial and budgeting responsibilities.
• Implement the Anti‑Corruption Policy within all finance operations.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in a senior finance role with managerial responsibility in a humanitarian or recovery context.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Working proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Experience in risk management with implementing partners and remote management is preferred.
• Previous experience in the Central and West Africa region is an advantage.
