Credit Control & Receivables Manager

About the role

The Credit Control & Receivables Manager will lead credit management and receivables operations for the African Medical Centre of Excellence in Abuja, overseeing patient accounts, insurance claims and payments while ensuring compliance and minimizing bad‑debt exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enforce credit policies, assess creditworthiness, set credit limits and monitor utilization.
• Manage accounts‑receivable aging, follow up overdue invoices and implement effective collection strategies.
• Process insurance claims, verify eligibility, calculate reimbursements, and handle denials and appeals.
• Oversee patient account inquiries, verify insurance benefits, and assist with payment plans or financial assistance.
• Prepare financial statements, conduct variance analysis, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide regular reporting to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in credit and receivables management, preferably within healthcare revenue cycle.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) and billing systems.
• Professional certification such as Certified Credit Manager or Certified Accounts Receivable Professional is advantageous.

Required skills

• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as applied to the healthcare sector.
• Expertise in healthcare revenue cycle management, including billing, coding and reimbursement processes.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) and billing software.
• Strong financial analysis techniques and data analysis tools.
