Accountant – Financial Reporting & Reconciliation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to lead the preparation of financial reports, manage bank reconciliations and support cyclical audits. The role requires strong analytical abilities, attention to detail and the capacity to work collaboratively across finance functions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations of bank statements, credit‑card transactions and other financial accounts.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances and opportunities for process improvement.
• Prepare reconciliation status reports, detailing discrepancies and corrective actions.
• Develop and implement best‑practice reconciliation procedures and recommend policy enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Treasury teams, and provide training on reconciliation tools.

Required profile

• BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline (ACA qualification is an advantage).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
• Understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
