Senior Audit Technical Specialist

About the role

The Senior Audit Technical Specialist provides expert technical support to assurance engagement teams, helping them navigate complex and judgement‑heavy audit matters. You will work closely with partners and managers to ensure high‑quality audit outcomes across a range of high‑risk areas.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver specialist audit technical consultation on reportable irregularities/NOCLAR, audit report modifications, and going‑concern evaluations.
• Enhance and maintain audit policies, practices, forms, templates, and tools for the “Future of Audit”.
• Research and respond to audit‑related enquiries and perform pre‑issuance KAM/EAR audit report reviews for listed/PIE engagements.
• Support technical learning and development by preparing and delivering updates and training materials.
• Provide AQR/IRBA support, conduct root‑cause analyses of quality deficiencies, and execute hot‑file reviews, global coaching, and thematic reviews.
• Collaborate with the QEL team on complex matters and enablement strategies.

Required profile

• Strong interest in tackling complex, judgement‑based audit issues and problem‑solving.
• Willingness to work outside comfort zones and deepen technical audit expertise.
• Desire to expand knowledge of EY’s Quality & Risk Management practices and sharpen decision‑making.
• Commitment to retain at least one audit client while developing technical skills.
