Travel Officer

About the role

A recruitment agency is hiring a full-time Travel Officer in Lagos (Marina, with the location also listed as Victoria Island) in the tourism and travel sector. The officer handles customer enquiries, bookings and sales of travel products.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to customer enquiries, prepare quotations and offer suitable travel options within clients' needs and budgets.
• Handle flight reservations, ticket issuance, reissuance, cancellations and refunds in line with company policy.
• Promote and sell travel products: domestic and international flights, hotels, tours, holiday packages and visa assistance.
• Build relationships with individual travellers, corporate clients and travel agents, and follow up on quotations and pending requests to turn enquiries into confirmed bookings.
• Ensure bookings are processed correctly and comply with payment and ticketing procedures.
• Maintain customer records, booking information and sales reports, and identify opportunities for repeat business, referrals and cross-selling.
• Resolve customer complaints and meet sales and revenue targets while taking part in marketing and business development.

Required profile

• Minimum of OND in Tourism, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related field.
• Previous experience in a travel agency, airline or travel management company is an advantage.
• Good communication, negotiation, customer service and sales skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organisation and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GDS platforms such as Amadeus, Sabre or Galileo is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic digital tools.
