Technical Support Engineer – Renewable Energy Systems

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Technical Support Engineer to join our new energy business in Lagos. You will be responsible for installing, commissioning and maintaining solar inverters, UPS and battery storage systems for our customers in Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site installation, commissioning, inspection and daily maintenance of renewable energy equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve technical faults for end‑customers.
• Deliver technical training and after‑sales support to local distributors and partners.
• Handle customer service work orders, monitor progress and ensure satisfaction.
• Work closely with the headquarters technical team to solve complex issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or Automation.
• Knowledge of residential PV inverters, lithium‑ion battery storage (BESS) and BMS.
• Experience repairing electronic and electrical products.
• Fluent English for reading technical manuals and reporting to R&D.
• Ability to organise online training (Webex/Zoom) and create installer guides.

Required skills

• Modbus (RTU/TCP) communication.
• CAN bus communication.
• Configuration of Wi‑Fi and GPRS monitoring modules.
• Troubleshooting and repair of inverter and battery storage hardware.
• Understanding of BMS management systems.
