Technical Sales Engineer - Fire Protection

About the role

NAFFCO Future Concerns Fire Systems, the Nigerian arm of NAFFCO, designs, supplies, supervises installation of and maintains fire-fighting, fire alarm and life safety systems for industrial, oil & gas, commercial and infrastructure clients. It is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer who combines engineering knowledge with strong sales skills to grow its client base and deliver winning technical offers.

Key responsibilities

• Source, qualify and manage leads through the full sales pipeline, from first contact to purchase order.
• Engage clients, consultants and contractors to understand their requirements and discuss technical solution principles.
• Carry out site surveys and provide the technical input needed for accurate offers.
• Work closely with the Engineering & Estimation team so that quotations and technical submittals are delivered on time and to specification.
• Present offers, follow up, negotiate and close deals; support counter (store) sales and AMC opportunities.
• Keep CRM records, lead registers and project documentation accurate and up to date, in line with company document control.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3-5 years' experience in fire-fighting systems (sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps, foam or gas suppression) in sales, design or projects.
• Proven sales techniques: prospecting, presenting, negotiating and closing.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence with clients and consultants.
• Self-motivated, organised and target-driven.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of NFPA standards and fire protection system principles.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and prepare commercial proposals.
• Added value: experience in the oil & gas sector, good knowledge of NAFFCO products, and strong client relationship management and networking.
