Store Manager - Control (Inventory Control)

About the role

Dangote Industries is looking for a Store Manager - Control for its Obajana plant. The role plans, controls and optimises inventory levels across the DCP Obajana stores network through inventory management, cycle counting, reconciliation, reporting and policy enforcement, reducing carrying costs while ensuring material availability.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate perpetual inventory records in ERP/WMS and ensure timely posting of receipts, issues, transfers and adjustments.
• Design and run cycle count programmes and full stocktakes, and coordinate with internal and external auditors during inventory audits.
• Investigate variances between physical and system balances and propose corrective actions.
• Classify inventory (ABC/criticality) and recommend safety stocks, reorder points and economic order quantities with Procurement and Planning.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce write-offs, slow-moving and obsolete stock.
• Prepare monthly inventory reports, ageing analysis, slow-moving lists and shrinkage reports for the Head of Stores and Finance.
• Manage stores ledger reconciliations and support month-end and year-end closings with Finance.
• Enforce inventory control policies, documentation standards and approval hierarchies, and train stores staff on inventory discipline and cycle counts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or similar.
• At least 15 years of experience in inventory management or stores control; high-value industrial inventory experience preferred.

Required skills

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• ERP reporting and inventory modules (SAP/Oracle) desirable.
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail and knowledge of costing and basic inventory accounting.
• Ability to implement controls and SOPs, and good communication skills.
