Mobile Equipment Electrician

About the role

APM Terminals is looking for a Mobile Equipment Electrician for its Apapa terminal. You will maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems on container-handling and mobile equipment such as Reach Stackers, Empty Stackers, Forklifts and Trucks, keeping the equipment safe, reliable and available for operations.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults, control systems and components on mobile equipment.
• Perform maintenance and modifications on Reach Stackers, Empty Stackers, Trucks and other equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Test equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
• Execute planned maintenance activities and complete work orders and maintenance records accurately.
• Maintain safe working practices and a clean, organised work environment.
• Work shifts and stand by to support 24-hour equipment availability.

Required profile

• BSc, HND or National Diploma in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Trade test, certificate or diploma as an electrician.
• 3-5 years of electrician experience in ports, mines, steel or manufacturing plants, including shift-working experience.

Required skills

• Basic mechanical knowledge and PC literacy.
• Ability to troubleshoot systematically, follow instructions and respond to emergency repairs.
