Procurement Officer

About the role

Dangote Industries Limited is hiring a Procurement Officer for its Obajana plant. The role covers developing purchasing strategies, building strong relationships with vendors and coordinating with internal teams on their supply needs.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships in line with company standards.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with organisational needs and market conditions.
• Monitor market trends and supplier performance to support optimal purchasing decisions.
• Work with departments to forecast demand and ensure timely delivery of products and services.
• Analyse costs, maintain procurement contract documentation and prepare reports and presentations for management.
• Ensure all purchasing complies with legal and ethical standards and resolve supplier disputes and order discrepancies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline; postgraduate degree an advantage.
• At least 5 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.

Required skills

• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship-building skills.
• Excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software.
• Organised, able to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
