Steward – Household & Kitchen Support

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Steward to support household and kitchen operations in a private residence in Lagos. The role involves general housekeeping, cleaning, and assisting with food preparation and other domestic tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general housekeeping and cleaning duties within the household.
• Keep assigned areas clean, neat, organised, and well‑maintained.
• Assist with laundry and other household tasks when required.
• Support the cook or kitchen staff with food preparation and other kitchen duties.
• Wash and properly store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Help with grocery unpacking, kitchen organisation, and restocking of supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and other household areas.
• Assist with serving meals and clearing the dining area when required.
• Run basic household errands as needed.
• Follow instructions from the employer and other household staff while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and respect for privacy.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a steward, housekeeper, domestic staff, kitchen assistant, or similar role (preferred).
• Hardworking, reliable, and responsible.
• Good knowledge of basic housekeeping and cleaning practices.
• Willingness to assist with kitchen duties.
• Clean, neat, respectful, and well‑mannered.
• Good communication and ability to follow instructions.
• Organised and attentive to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a household team.
• Demonstrates honesty, discretion, and respect for employer’s privacy.
• Physically fit and able to carry out routine household duties.
