Sonographer – Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Sonographer to join our diagnostic team at Rivonia Diagnostics and Sleep Centre in Ibadan. The role involves performing high‑quality ultrasound examinations, supporting patient care, and collaborating with physicians to deliver accurate diagnostic information. You will maintain equipment hygiene, ensure compliance with medical confidentiality standards, and contribute to a compassionate patient environment.

Key responsibilities

• Explain the ultrasound procedure to patients, answer questions, and position them for optimal imaging.
• Apply coupling gel and manipulate the transducer to capture diagnostic images of organs, muscles, or fetuses.
• Review images for quality, take initial measurements, and prepare preliminary reports for interpreting physicians.
• Calibrate, maintain, and sanitize ultrasound equipment, troubleshooting minor technical issues.
• Ensure patient comfort, uphold confidentiality, and follow safety protocols.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in a relevant health science field.
• Minimum two years of experience performing ultrasound examinations.
• Familiarity with ECG; knowledge of EEG is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a clinical environment in Ibadan.
