Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - BIM, Revit

About the role

Excel Engineering & Construction is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with strong BIM and Revit expertise to lead mechanical design for building and industrial projects in Nigeria. The role is full‑time, on‑site and involves delivering high‑quality, cost‑effective solutions across HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and related systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design activities for building and industrial projects, covering HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and other systems.
• Develop detailed 3D models and construction drawings using Revit and other CAD tools.
• Coordinate BIM models with structural, architectural and electrical teams to ensure integrated designs.
• Validate design calculations, prepare technical documentation and support construction teams with design clarifications.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers, participate in design reviews and contribute to process improvements.
• Collaborate with project managers to meet schedule, quality and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Proven experience in a senior or lead mechanical design role, preferably in construction or building services.
• Ability to interpret and produce accurate technical drawings, specifications and calculations.
• Experience with Nigerian and international building codes is an advantage.
• Demonstrated capability to mentor junior staff and manage multiple design packages concurrently.
