Head of Civil Engineering

About the role

The Head of Civil Engineering will lead site operations, ensuring all works comply with approved drawings, standards and health‑safety requirements while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily site activities, verify compliance with drawings, specifications and ITPs.
• Integrate HSE requirements, participate in toolbox talks and permit‑to‑work processes.
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports, material requisitions and technical logs.
• Coordinate with QS and procurement for material take‑offs, MIRs and supplier approvals.
• Track progress against schedule, report variances and propose recovery actions.
• Support testing, commissioning and punch‑list closure activities.
• Maintain ISO‑compliant documentation and ensure audit readiness.
• Escalate technical risks and non‑conformities, implement remedial actions under supervision.

Required profile

• First degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• COREN certification.
• 12‑15 years of construction engineering experience, including site supervision and QA/QC.
• Knowledge of construction design and ISO 9001/ISO 45001 awareness.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with MS Project or similar scheduling software.
• Experience performing QA/QC checks and material verification.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and method statements.
