Quantity Surveyor – Manufacturing & Projects

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will manage contract finances, cost estimation, material take‑offs and commercial risk for both decorative/industrial paint manufacturing and turnkey application projects. This position links production economics with on‑site execution.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Bills of Quantities, material schedules and labour estimates for commercial, residential and industrial coating projects.
• Collaborate with factory teams to monitor batch yields, raw material and packaging costs, establishing standard unit rates.
• Evaluate, negotiate and certify payments for painting application subcontractors and specialised applicators.
• Conduct joint site measurements, issue interim valuation certificates, variation orders and final accounts.
• Review contract terms, manage disputes and track client claims to protect margins.
• Produce monthly commercial reports comparing budgeted versus actual material consumption and profit margins per project.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Building Technology or Construction Management.
• Professional affiliation with NIQS, RICS or equivalent (preferred).
• 3–5+ years of commercial quantity surveying experience, preferably in architectural finishes, specialised coatings or building‑material manufacturing.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QS software such as CostX, PlanSwift and AutoCAD.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
