Senior Marketing Manager - Pan African

About the role

The Orchard is a music distribution company operating in over 45 markets worldwide, working with independent artists, record labels and content creators. Its Pan African team drives marketing, strategic partnerships and label services across Africa. The team meets in the office Monday to Thursday; Fridays are usually spent working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end relationships with distributed music clients, labels and management teams across Africa, handling frontline releases and high-volume catalogues.
• Design, execute and measure multi-channel release marketing campaigns from inception through post-release analysis.
• Pitch and onboard labels, independent artists and catalog owners into The Orchard's distribution ecosystem.
• Partner with regional, international marketing, finance, legal and video services teams on client projects.
• Secure brand partnerships, event sponsorships and co-marketing opportunities.
• Drive client adoption of internal tech suite and workstation analytics tools.
• Represent The Orchard at music industry events, showcases and conferences across Africa.

Required profile

• Minimum 5+ years in digital marketing, product management or account management within the African music industry (label, distribution or DSP context).
• Deep understanding of digital supply chains, content management systems, digital metadata and streaming algorithms across Afrobeats, Afro-R&B, Gospel and emerging genres.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with strong stakeholder management and executive presentation skills.
• Established network of brands, media, talent managers and label executives in Africa.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines, work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and travel regionally and internationally.
