Senior Maintenance Engineer

About the role

A growing company based in Port Harcourt is looking for a skilled, reliable Senior Maintenance Engineer. The role covers the maintenance and repair of various types of equipment, machinery and marine equipment, ensuring that installations, repairs and maintenance meet high standards and boost overall productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance and handle repairs so machinery stays in good working order
• Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them, and repair machines, equipment or structures as needed
• Oversee contractors when professional repairs are required
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures
• Maintain documentation of work carried out
• Collaborate with the engineering team to develop maintenance strategies

Required profile

• Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience as a Maintenance Engineer
• B.Eng/HND in Mechanical Engineering
• Solid understanding of general maintenance procedures and best practices
• Substantial, hands-on experience managing earth-moving equipment such as graders, excavators, payloaders and dredgers
• Good physical fitness and comfort working with a variety of hand tools

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
• Able to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
• Confident using hardware tools and power equipment
• Strong problem-solving skills and close attention to detail
