Managing Director - Upstream Oil & Gas Bid Lead

About the role

TAG E & P, an integrated service company offering oilfield products and support services in the Nigerian oil and gas industry, is looking for a Managing Director for its Lekki office. The role leads the company's strategy and execution for the 2026 license round, from bid preparation through to first oil, and is permanent and on-site.

Key responsibilities

• Set TAG E&P's strategy for the 2026 license round: block screening, go/no-go decisions, partners and bid price.
• Own prequalification and the full bid submission, on time and compliant.
• Act as TAG E&P's representative to NUPRC, NNPC, partners and financiers throughout the round.
• Secure funding commitments and partners that show financial capacity to the regulator.
• Lead license signing, then the post-award work programme and FDP.
• Build and lead the management team, holding each function to its milestone plan and budget.
• Report monthly to the board on bid progress, spend and risk.

Required profile

• 18+ years in upstream oil and gas, including 5+ in asset or general management at a licence holder.
• Has led or co-led a winning bid in a Nigerian licensing or marginal field round and taken a field through FDP approval to first oil.
• Degree in petroleum engineering, geoscience or a related discipline.
• Shallow-water offshore experience in the Niger Delta.
• MBA or equivalent; COREN registration.
• Experience running a lean indigenous operator with a heavily outsourced model.

Required skills

• Direct working relationships with NUPRC and NNPC.
• Strong command of the PIA 2021 framework.
• Track record of raising or managing project finance for an upstream asset.
