Subsurface Manager (Geoscience & Reservoir Engineering)

About the role

TAG E & P, an integrated service company supplying oilfield products and support services in the Nigerian oil and gas industry, is hiring a Subsurface Manager (Geoscience & Reservoir Engineering) in Lekki. The position is permanent and on-site, with a deadline of 31 December 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate seismic, well log and production data for blocks on offer and estimate in-place volumes, risk resources and production profiles.
• Define the work programme commitment for the bid, including firm and contingent wells, seismic and studies.
• Prepare the technical sections of the bid and support the regulator's technical evaluation.
• After award, lead seismic re-processing, reservoir modelling and the subsurface chapters of the FDP.
• Commission independent reserves certification (CPR) for fundraising.
• Manage specialist contractors within a fixed budget and set up the subsurface data room.

Required profile

• 12+ years in Niger Delta geoscience or reservoir engineering, with 4+ years leading an integrated subsurface team.
• Degree in geology, geophysics or petroleum engineering; MSc preferred.
• Hands-on experience with stacked deltaic reservoirs and brownfield or marginal field redevelopment.
• Has authored FDP subsurface sections and supported reserves audits.
• Alumni of an IOC or major indigenous operator subsurface team.
• Gas development experience, in case the awarded block holds gas.

Required skills

• Fluent in industry modelling tools such as Petrel, Eclipse or equivalents.
