Mobile Harbour Crane Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

APM Terminals is looking for a maintenance supervisor to plan, coordinate and supervise maintenance of Mobile Harbour Cranes (MHCs) so that container operations remain safe, reliable and efficient. The role leads crane technicians, electricians and mechanics and covers preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance of cranes, spreaders and auxiliary systems, in line with OEM standards, statutory requirements and terminal procedures
• Prioritise and close defects from statutory inspections and examiner defect lists, and provide planning input on manpower, spare parts, tools and task sequencing to minimise downtime
• Analyse breakdowns, carry out root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions; track and review KPIs such as availability, MTBF, MTTR and PM/CM ratios
• Lead and supervise technicians, electricians and mechanics, and enforce HSE standards including toolbox talks, risk assessments and lockout/tagout
• Provide advanced troubleshooting support for mechanical, electrical and hydraulic crane systems and coordinate with OEMs, contractors and external service providers
• Manage spare parts inventory, maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders in the CMMS, and drive continuous improvement (RCM, Kaizen)

Required profile

• HND or bachelor's degree (B.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory maintenance role
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing maintenance programmes, and in spare parts criticality and asset maintenance planning
• Good understanding of safety regulations in terminal, port or industrial operations
• Proven ability to coach, mentor and train team members, and strong verbal and written communication skills

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, reading technical drawings and schematics
• Good knowledge of Siemens PLCs and control systems, and proficiency in Siemens STEP 7 SIMATIC Manager
• Experience with Siemens SINAMICS drives, including operation, maintenance and troubleshooting
• Experience with CMMS such as IFS, SAP PM or similar
