Senior Architect – Finishing Works & Interior Fit‑Out Completion

About the role

The company is seeking a senior, site‑based architect to lead high‑end finishing works and interior fit‑out projects. This role focuses on quality control, shop‑drawing coordination and driving floor‑by‑floor completion within an eight‑month programme. It is not a concept‑design position.

Key responsibilities

• Review and comment on architectural, fit‑out, ceiling, partition, joinery, door, furniture and finish drawings; maintain drawing and material submittal registers.
• Coordinate sample boards, benchmark rooms, material approvals and mock‑ups before mass installation.
• Conduct daily site inspections, verify workmanship, tolerances and substrate readiness; reject defective work and keep photographic records.
• Synchronise architectural finishes with MEP, ELV, AV, ICT, lighting, sprinklers, HVAC diffusers, access control and furniture.
• Monitor finishing programmes, 2‑week look‑aheads and critical long‑lead items; escalate delays affecting the delivery target.
• Track finish materials, partition systems, doors, ironmongery, furniture and factory production status.
• Lead floor‑by‑floor snagging, de‑snagging, final inspection and handover acceptance.
• Prepare weekly architectural finishing reports covering progress, quality risks, submittals, procurement and handover status.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred); 12‑15 years of architectural experience with at least 8‑10 years managing finishing works or interior fit‑out.
• Member of the Nigerian Institute of Architects or equivalent; ARCON registration or eligibility is an advantage.
• Proven site‑based experience in inspections, mock‑ups, shop‑drawing review, coordination meetings, snagging and handover.
• Completed at least two projects >20,000 m² or one major HQ, hotel, airport, luxury commercial or Grade A office tower.
