Senior Accountant – Finance Team

About the role

Sayed Farms Limited is seeking a highly competent and detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to join its Finance Team in Ibadan. The role involves overseeing all accounting transactions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the company’s poultry and frozen‑food operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and control day‑to‑day accounting transactions across the department.
• Manage prepaid expenses, accruals, and ensure accurate amortization schedules.
• Maintain the fixed‑assets register, including additions, disposals, depreciation and physical verification.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes, delivering timely financial statements.
• Review, analyse and validate expense transactions for compliance with budgets.
• Prepare detailed expense analysis reports for management decision‑making.
• Ensure accurate stock accounting and reconcile inventory movements, especially in the poultry sector.
• Handle ERP workflow entries such as Receipt Voucher, Payment Voucher, Purchase Order and Goods Received Note.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and mentor accounting staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAN, ACCA or equivalent).
• Minimum 8 years progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in poultry, manufacturing or FMCG sector is an advantage.
