Sales Executive - Sheraton Lagos Hotel

About the role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is hiring a full-time, non-management Sales Executive for its hotel in Ikeja, Lagos. The role covers guest service, reservations and revenue-generating sales activities, and also includes general office support for the Sales & Marketing function.

Key responsibilities

• Contact the right person or department to resolve guest calls, requests or problems, and use sales techniques that maximise revenue while keeping existing guests loyal to Marriott, including up-selling.
• Determine and give complimentary gifts such as rewards points, show tickets or gift certificates to guests as a reward for their patronage.
• Promote the brand image internally and externally, and process requests to redeem Marriott Rewards points.
• Process reservation requests, changes and cancellations received by phone, fax or mail, enter Marriott Rewards information into the reservation software, and answer, record and process guest calls and concerns.
• Perform general office duties supporting Sales & Marketing, such as filing, sending emails, typing and faxing.
• Assist management in training and motivating staff and act as a role model.
• Welcome guests according to company standards, anticipate their service needs and thank them sincerely.
• Follow company policies, keep a clean and professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and speak clearly and professionally.
• Build positive working relationships, support the team, monitor colleagues' performance against quality standards, and read and verify information in various formats.
• Lift and move objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance and perform other reasonable duties asked by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 2 years of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification needed.
