Bartender

About the role

Tastiva is hiring a full-time bartender for its bar in Abuja (Marina). The role covers opening preparation, drink service, inventory control and closing duties, with a monthly pay range of NGN 70,000 to 150,000.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise bar counters, shelves, glassware, equipment and workstations before service.
• Prepare daily fresh juices (at least 3 portions pineapple, 3 orange and 1 watermelon) and wash, cut, portion, label and refrigerate fruits, herbs and garnishes.
• Prepare at least 100 assorted garnishes daily and ensure ice, glassware, spirits, syrups and juices are available.
• Inspect bar equipment and organise the bar for efficient service.
• Make cocktails, mocktails, fresh juices and smoothies to standard recipes, keeping taste, portion size and presentation consistent.
• Take customer orders accurately and promptly, communicate professionally with front desk, waiters and kitchen staff, and follow responsible alcohol-service practices.
• Monitor spirits, mixers, syrups, fruits and garnishes; record daily stock movement, breakages, spoilage and wastage; report shortages, damage and equipment faults.
• Clean and sanitise the bar after service, store leftovers safely, complete daily stock counts, submit requisitions and reports, and secure the bar before closing.

Required profile

• Previous professional bartending or mixology experience in a restaurant, hotel, lounge or hospitality establishment.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, mocktails, spirits, fresh juices and beverage presentation.
• Ability to follow standard recipes and maintain consistency.
• Good inventory management and record-keeping skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Valid identification, including NIN; references and two guarantors may be required.
