Risk Officer

About the role

A bank in Abuja is looking for a Risk Officer to coordinate its risk management framework, design risk processes and ensure staff understand their risk responsibilities. The role also covers reporting to auditors, the Risk Committee and regulators, and maintaining a risk-aware culture across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the periodic review of the risk management policy and other elements of the risk management network.
• Design processes for managing risk and implement them across the bank.
• Ensure staff understand their risk responsibilities and receive training and support.
• Analyse key risk indicators such as credit, liquidity, operational and market risks.
• Ensure a minimum monthly collection of 90%, a minimum quarterly collection of 90% and a monthly reduction of NPLs by 10%; the remedial process starts on the first default in a monthly instalment.
• Prepare reports for auditors, the Risk Committee and the regulatory body.
• Coordinate communication and reporting between roles in the bank's governance model.
• Promote a positive, risk-aware culture across the bank.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience.
• Minimum of a degree in a related field.
