Remote AI Annotation Specialist

About the role

AfroEye Research, which delivers market research solutions focused on data integrity and actionable insights across African markets, is hiring a part-time, on-site Remote AI Annotation Specialist in Nigeria. The specialist reviews, labels and categorizes text, image or audio data to train and improve AI and machine learning models used in market research.

Key responsibilities

• Follow detailed annotation guidelines and ensure high accuracy and consistency across large datasets.
• Document data issues or ambiguities and give feedback to help refine annotation workflows.
• Collaborate with project managers and research teams to meet quality standards and deadlines.
• Use digital tools and platforms to manage datasets, track progress and support the delivery of reliable insights to clients.

Required profile

• Ability to work on-site in Nigeria on a part-time schedule, manage time well and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with good analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication, able to report issues clearly and collaborate with teams.
• Openness to training, adherence to ethical standards and commitment to data privacy and confidentiality.
• Familiarity with AI, machine learning or data annotation concepts, and prior experience in market research or data-related roles, is an advantage.
• Relevant post-secondary education (e.g. social sciences, data science, computer science, statistics) is preferred but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Comfort with digital tools such as spreadsheets, web-based annotation interfaces and basic data management systems.
• Ability to interpret content, identify patterns and apply labels that match project objectives.
