IT/Network Support Officer

About the role

A skilled and proactive IT/Network Support Officer is sought to join a technology team. The role covers hands-on management of IT infrastructure, technical support and keeping the network and systems reliable and secure. It suits a problem-solver who can work independently while supporting end-users and maintaining critical IT operations.

Key responsibilities

• Hardware and technical support: diagnose and fix hardware issues on desktops, laptops, servers, printers and peripherals; install, upgrade and maintain hardware; manage IT asset inventory and coordinate warranty repairs and replacements; provide first- and second-level support to users.
• Network administration: install, configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls and access points; monitor performance and fix connectivity issues; implement security protocols and access controls; manage VPN and remote access.
• System administration: administer Windows/Linux servers and Active Directory; manage user accounts, permissions and group policies; oversee software deployment, patching and licensing; maintain backups and disaster recovery.
• General IT operations: document procedures, network diagrams and configurations; coordinate with vendors; help with IT projects and upgrades; ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, ability to work independently and manage several priorities.
• Commitment to security best practices and continuous learning.

Required skills

• Windows and Linux server administration.
• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and VLAN configuration.
• Network hardware such as Cisco, Juniper or equivalent.
• Active Directory and Microsoft 365/Exchange administration.
• Hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Certifications preferred: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, MCSA, Cisco CCNA or equivalent.
