Regional Head Internal Audit - Nigeria

About the role

Dangote Industries Limited is looking for a Regional Head Internal Audit for Nigeria, based at the Head Office in Lagos. The role supports the Group Chief Internal Auditor in delivering independent assurance and advisory services on governance, risk and internal controls to executive management, the Board, the Statutory Audit Committee and the Cluster Audit Committees covering South and Eastern Africa and West and Central Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Group Chief Internal Auditor in providing assurance and advisory services to the Cluster Audit Committees and act as secretary to their meetings, reviewing minutes and matters arising.
• Prepare and review internal audit packs for the Group Board Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee, the monthly Executive Committee and performance review, the Statutory Audit Committee and the Anti-Fraud Committee, and present them to senior management.
• Lead and manage teams on special reviews for other Dangote subsidiaries and on the ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management audit.
• Review IAD expense vouchers and departmental float, liaise with external consultants and auditors, and review submissions to regulators such as the FRCN and SEC.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting or a related discipline; a Master's degree or MBA is an added advantage.
• Membership of a professional body such as ICAN, ACCA, CIA, CPA or IIA.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience, 8 at senior management level; experience in a top-tier audit firm or global manufacturing company is desirable.
• Experience across multiple industries such as manufacturing, energy and utilities; international experience is an added advantage.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of internal audit standards, ethics and certification, and of internal audit's role in corporate governance.
• Knowledge of IFRS, regulatory reporting requirements and control models such as COSO.
• Awareness of audit automation tools, practical knowledge of MS Office and ERP solutions.
• Project management, negotiation, analytical and communication skills.
