About the role
The Quantity Surveyor oversees the financial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. The role controls project expenditure, produces accurate material cost projections and tracks key financial indicators to ensure fiscal stability and efficiency throughout the building lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Develop initial cost estimates for materials, prepare comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and formulate budget forecasts.
- Assess and analyse contractor bids, commercial quotations and project proposals.
- Carry out regular site valuations and validate payment applications for completed work.
- Track on-site spending patterns and identify deviations from the budget or potential cost overruns.
- Support the finalisation of project accounts and take part in post-completion financial audits.
