Quality Control Officer

About the role

Scalein is hiring a full-time Quality Control Officer in its manufacturing business. The role covers laboratory testing and analysis of raw materials, packaging materials, in-process samples and finished products, including visual inspections and preparation of Certificates of Analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct physical, chemical and analytical tests on agrochemical products according to approved test methods and SOPs, and verify results against product specifications.
• Collect representative samples and perform visual inspections of incoming materials, packaging and finished products, including bottles, caps, labels and cartons.
• Carry out in-process inspections during formulation, filling, capping, coding, sealing, labeling and packaging, and report deviations.
• Support production and quality assurance in resolving non-conformances, and assist in investigations of OOS results and quality issues.
• Operate laboratory equipment, keep instruments clean and calibrated, maintain equipment logs and record results in worksheets, logbooks and electronic systems.
• Prepare Certificates of Analysis, daily, weekly and monthly laboratory reports, and ensure documentation follows Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Segregate rejected samples, segregate and dispose of laboratory waste safely, and monitor stock of reagents, chemicals and consumables.
• Comply with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), HSE policies and wear PPE.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology or a related science.
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in Quality Control or Laboratory Operations in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in agrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical, FMCG or industrial manufacturing is an added advantage.

• ISO 9001 awareness, laboratory quality control training, HSE certification and chemical handling safety training (added advantages)
