Quality Assurance Manager

About the role

The Quality Assurance Manager develops, implements and maintains a comprehensive quality management and food safety system so that all products meet regulatory, company and customer standards. The role ensures compliance with internationally recognised systems such as TQM, HACCP, ISO 22000 and GMP, and drives continuous improvement. It is a full-time position based in Delta.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the TQM framework and HACCP in line with NAFDAC and best practice, enforce GMP and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality deviations.
• Supervise quality control laboratory testing and product analysis, report quality metrics and trends, and mentor the QA team.
• Set supplier quality standards and audits, work with procurement on approved supplier lists, and ensure incoming raw materials meet quality and safety specifications.
• Run internal quality, housekeeping and food safety audits, prepare for external audits and certifications, and keep documentation in line with ISO and food safety standards.
• Handle customer complaints and product performance issues, investigate them and work with production to meet customer specifications.
• Promote a quality culture, train staff on quality systems, hygiene and food safety, and work with the production, mill, shipping and group management teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or a related field.
• Professional certification in food safety or a quality management system is an advantage.
• At least 7-10 years of experience in food manufacturing or flour milling.
• At least 3-5 years in a managerial role in quality assurance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and HACCP.
• Strong knowledge of TQM principles and food safety systems implementation.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, leadership and team development, and communication with production, mill and shipping managers and regulatory agencies.
