Field Development & Operations Manager

About the role

TAG E & P, an integrated service company offering oilfield products and support services in the Nigerian oil and gas industry, is hiring a Field Development & Operations Manager for a permanent, on-site position in Lekki. The role leads concept selection and delivery of a shallow-water development, from planning and contracting through to first oil. The salary is negotiable and the deadline is 31 December 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Lead concept selection for a shallow-water development, including tie-back to nearby infrastructure versus standalone options.
• Own the engineering, cost and schedule chapters of the Feasibility Development Plan (FDP).
• Plan and contract wells, facilities and pipelines; run tenders through NCDMB-compliant processes using TAG Energy's procurement base where competitive.
• Manage EPC, rig and marine contractors through execution to first oil.
• Build the operations organisation, maintenance strategy and production reporting ahead of start-up.
• Agree infrastructure access, metering and evacuation arrangements with host operators.

Required profile

• 15+ years in field development and operations, with 5+ in a lead role on Nigerian shallow-water or swamp projects.
• At least one tie-back or small-platform development delivered from FEED to first oil.
• Operator-side experience managing contractors, not just working as one.
• Strong cost discipline suited to marginal field economics.
• Engineering degree and COREN registration.
• Experience with early production systems or leased production facilities.
• Background with an IOC asset later divested to an indigenous operator.
