About the role
The Procurement Officer manages the purchase of essential construction materials in the Maiduguri region. The role secures high-quality resources such as cement, iron, sand, granite and fittings from a diverse supplier base so that projects stay on schedule and their integrity is protected.
Key responsibilities
- Solicit and compare prices for cement, iron, sand, granite and fittings from at least three suppliers in Maiduguri.
- Negotiate terms and make purchases only after formal approval.
- Coordinate logistics so materials arrive on time and work crews are not idle.
- Obtain and file receipts and waybills to keep accurate procurement records.
- Inspect materials against specifications, checking for counterfeit cement and verifying iron bar sizes.
