Payroll Officer

About the role

We are seeking a highly organised, detail‑oriented Payroll Officer to ensure accurate, timely, and confidential processing of employee payroll while maintaining compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll accurately and within approved timelines.
• Prepare and validate payroll inputs including salaries, allowances, overtime, deductions, bonuses, leave, new hires, promotions, and exits.
• Calculate and process statutory deductions such as PAYE, Pension, NHF and other applicable deductions.
• Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations for management review and resolve any discrepancies.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee information and payroll inputs.
• Respond to employee payroll queries promptly and maintain strict confidentiality.
• Support payroll audits and identify opportunities to improve payroll processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• 3–4 years of payroll administration experience, preferably in a fast‑paced FMCG or similar environment.
• Good knowledge of Nigerian payroll processes and statutory deductions.
• Strong numerical, analytical and reconciliation skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information with high integrity and meet strict payroll deadlines.
