Offshore Installation Manager

About the role

Gec Energy Solutions Limited is recruiting an Offshore Installation Manager for a full-time position in Nigeria. The role covers health, safety, security and emergency response, overall operations and production control, legal and regulatory compliance, people management and cost and logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Health, safety, security and emergency: act as On-Scene Commander in emergencies, approve Permit to Work, hot work, confined space, lifting and other safety-critical controls, lead safety meetings and drills, manage Safety Critical Elements, Major Accident Hazards and the risk register, ensure risks are ALARP, oversee Management of Change, investigate incidents and near-misses, and promote a positive safety culture.
• Operations and production: control simultaneous operations across production, drilling, construction and maintenance, review operating parameters and trends, approve well start-up, shut-in and testing programmes, reduce production deferment, optimise well flow and gas lift, chair the integrated operations meeting and coordinate with onshore operations and HQ.
• Legal and regulatory compliance: maintain the installation logbook, comply with NUPRC, NIMASA and NOSDRA requirements, and report accidents, spills and significant incidents to onshore management and regulators.
• People management: lead a multi-disciplinary offshore team, manage welfare and discipline, and keep personnel competency, certification and mandatory training (including BOSIET and Well Control) current.
• Cost and logistics: control offshore OPEX, consumables and chemicals within budget, and coordinate supply boat and helicopter manifests and personnel movements.

Required profile

• B.Sc./B.Eng. in a relevant engineering or associated discipline.
• Minimum 12-15 years of offshore experience, including as a Production Superintendent or equivalent senior offshore operations role.
• Valid OIM certificate / Offshore Installation Manager licence.
• Certifications: BOSIET, CA-EBS, Advanced Fire Fighting, and Major Emergency Management (MEM) / OIM Controlling Emergencies.
