Night Duty Manager

About the role

The Night Duty Manager oversees all night-time operations at the hotel, ensuring smooth service delivery, safety, and guest satisfaction during overnight hours.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate night-time operations across all departments.
• Monitor staff attendance, performance, and adherence to policies.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure security procedures are followed and conduct routine premises inspections.
• Review daily reports, shift records, and transaction documentation.
• Coordinate handover to the incoming shift manager.
• Monitor cash handling and ensure accurate transaction recording.
• Respond to emergencies, incidents, and operational challenges.
• Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and compliance with service standards.
• Prepare night shift reports and communicate significant issues to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, HND, or equivalent in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2–4 years of supervisory or management experience in hospitality or hotel operations.
• Experience managing night shifts is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, decision‑making, and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Basic knowledge of health, safety, security, and emergency procedures.
• High integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with operational management systems.
