Medical Officer – Hospitality

About the role

A reputable hospitality organization is looking for an early-career Medical Officer to provide quality medical care to employees, guests, visitors and others needing attention. The role supports prompt clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, emergency care, preventive healthcare and appropriate referrals, under clinical supervision and established medical protocols. It reports to the Medical Director / Head of Medical Services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultations and clinical care, conduct assessments, examinations, diagnoses, treatments and follow-up.
• Take and review medical histories, symptoms and vital signs; prescribe according to approved clinical guidelines.
• Give first aid and initial management in emergencies, and refer to hospitals or specialists when needed.
• Manage common acute and chronic conditions, request and interpret lab investigations, and maintain accurate, confidential patient records.
• Support health screenings, vaccination programmes, wellness activities and occupational health and safety initiatives.
• Work with nurses, HR, Health & Safety and management, and prepare medical reports and documentation.
• Follow infection prevention practices, emergency protocols and clinical procedures, and take part in continuous professional development.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
• Completed housemanship training in Nigeria and fully registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
• 0-2 years of post-qualification clinical experience.
• Sound knowledge of general medical practice, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.
• Ability to manage common conditions and emergencies and to escalate cases appropriately.
• Good communication, clinical reasoning and documentation skills, and willingness to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
