Medical Doctor

About the role

Universal Hospital, a private multi-specialty facility founded in 2013, is hiring a full-time, on-site Medical Doctor for its Abuja facility. The doctor provides comprehensive clinical care, from patient assessment to treatment planning, and works within a hospital setting that has expanded its outpatient services.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, take medical histories, perform physical examinations and order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans and prescribe medications
• Perform or assist with procedures within the doctor's scope of practice
• Monitor patient progress and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams
• Document care accurately in medical records and follow hospital protocols and regulatory standards
• Take part in quality improvement initiatives and educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and prevention

Required profile

• Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and a valid medical license to practice
• Relevant board certification or specialist training where applicable
• Experience in hospital or multi-specialty clinical settings; prior work in accredited or high-standard health systems is an advantage
• Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts or weekends as needed

Required skills

• Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and follow-up care
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and interpretation of laboratory and imaging results
