Manager, Relationship, Public Sector

About the role

Standard Bank Group is hiring a Manager, Relationship, Public Sector in Ibadan. The role owns the client relationship with the bank, manages the client portfolio and is accountable for total client revenue while cross-selling the bank's products and services. It focuses on selling the bank's products so that the best, value-added solutions are offered to each client.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the public sector across Nigeria's client base to maximise cross-selling revenue and client profitability
• Liaise with the Credit Department where needed, giving input during credit origination, evaluation and execution of credit offers
• Prospect for new public sector clients
• Manage the client budget across all approved products and ensure organic growth through new transactions
• Work with product houses to create new opportunities for existing and new clients
• Monitor client account utilisation across asset classes and ensure risk management on all accounts
• Prepare and update account plans to provide strategic and tactical planning for the client

Required profile

• First degree in any field
• Professional certification or a Master's degree in generic management or a related course is an added advantage
• At least 5-7 years of experience as a trade sales executive, debt solution analyst, transactional banker or account executive
• Cognate experience in sales and customer relationship management to drive profitability and build relationships

Required skills

• Knowledge of all bank products and services
• Familiarity with CBN regulations
• Sales skills, accounting/budgeting, computer literacy, risk management and credit evaluation
• Leadership, decision-making, conflict resolution and communication competencies
