Maintenance Technician

About the role

Sika Nigeria is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Lagos (Marina) to keep the facility, laboratory and production plant equipment safe, reliable and properly functioning. The role covers preventive and corrective maintenance, contractor supervision and compliance with EHS and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain facility, laboratory and production plant equipment and respond to equipment breakdowns.
• Enforce company safety rules, report unsafe conditions and equipment failures, and supervise contractors to ensure EHS compliance.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with work permit and clearance certificate requirements, coordinate statutory inspections and keep required certifications up to date.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance, support plant process safety initiatives and carry out risk assessments for maintenance activities.
• Maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, job cards and incident reports, and keep instrument calibration records current.
• Keep workshops, stores, tools and PPE clean and in good condition.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of plant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to supervise contractors and manage maintenance activities effectively.

Required skills

• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance systems.
• Good understanding of EHS requirements, permit-to-work systems and process safety.
• Knowledge of statutory equipment inspections and maintenance compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in maintenance documentation and record management.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and organizational skills; good communication and teamwork skills.
