EHS Assistant

About the role

Sika Nigeria is hiring a full-time EHS Assistant in Lagos (Marina) within its manufacturing and warehousing business. The role supports the implementation of health, safety and environmental policies and helps keep the workplace compliant with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing EHS policies, procedures and programs.
• Support risk assessments, safety inspections and audits.
• Monitor workplace practices to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections and corrective actions.
• Provide administrative support for EHS training and awareness programs.
• Assist in reporting and investigating accidents, near misses and hazards.
• Promote environmental sustainability initiatives, including waste management and energy conservation.
• Liaise with staff to encourage safe work practices and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• BSc or HND in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an EHS or related role.
• Proven knowledge of HSE/EHS principles and workplace safety standards.
• Professional certification such as HSE Level 1-3 or NEBOSH IGC is an added advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness.
