Logistics Officer – Yobe, Nigeria

About the role

Action Against Hunger is seeking a Logistics Officer to support programme delivery in Damaturu, Yobe State. The role involves managing fleet, facilities, ICT resources and supervising the local logistics team to ensure efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide logistics support to programmes, including purchase requests, stock releases and distribution assistance.
• Manage the base fleet: develop vehicle schedules, coordinate driver planning and oversee vehicle movements and maintenance.
• Maintain facilities: conduct regular checks, supervise repairs, report major rehabilitation needs and manage water and energy supply.
• Oversee ICT resources when no dedicated ICT officer is present, resolve user issues and supervise data backup procedures.
• Lead the logistics team: organise work, recruit staff, develop training plans and conduct performance evaluations.
• Prepare monthly logistics reports covering contracts, equipment, fleet management and stock follow‑up.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Minimum 2 years of logistics management experience, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong leadership, analytical, reporting and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in insecure environments.
• Fluent English and Hausa with good interpersonal skills.
