QA/QC Engineer – Drilling & Well Materials

About the role

The QA/QC Engineer will ensure that all drilling, completion and well intervention equipment and materials are available on time, in proper condition and meet required QA/QC standards. The role supports the Head of Materials & QA/QC and works across onshore and offshore operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate inspection, testing and validation of equipment and materials for drilling, completion and intervention activities.
• Prepare and implement API Q2 QA/QC plans, procedures and inspection standards (API, ASTM, ASNT).
• Provide daily/weekly HSE and operational reports to senior management.
• Mentor junior engineers and supervisors, sharing best practices and reviewing documentation.
• Maintain communication with logistics bases (Onne, OML58, New Pipe yard) and contractor sites to ensure smooth material flow.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of technical experience in onshore/offshore drilling or well engineering.
• Previous roles as QA/QC inspector, workshop manager, or materials logistics specialist.
• Strong knowledge of drilling, completions, intervention and well integrity equipment.
• Familiarity with Nigerian and international oil‑gas regulatory bodies.

Required skills

• Inspection techniques: MPI, DPT, UST, EC.
• Standards and codes: API, ASTM, ASNT.
• QA/QC planning and execution (API Q2).
• Material handling, stock management and logistics coordination.
