Junior Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This position is ideal for a recent graduate with a First Class degree who is eager to apply technical knowledge to real‑world problems in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services.
• Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code following best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and senior engineers to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve defects and performance issues.
• Assist in designing and implementing new features and system enhancements.
• Learn and adopt emerging technologies, tools, and development methodologies.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge‑sharing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, IT or related field.
• Minimum of First Class Honours (or equivalent academic distinction).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt quickly.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures and algorithms.
• Proficiency in at least one language such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C# or Go.
• Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of web technologies, APIs and cloud platforms (advantage).
• Practical exposure through internships, coursework, personal projects or open‑source contributions.
