IT Operations Manager – North West Nigeria

About the role

The IT Operations Manager will ensure reliable technology services for staff and partners across NewGlobe’s North‑West Nigeria operations, overseeing hardware, software, network and security infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line IT support for all local staff, handling hardware, software and peripheral issues and managing service desk tickets.
• Deploy, configure and maintain computers, school technology, operating systems, network equipment (firewalls, routers, switches) and ensure network security.
• Monitor operational performance, enforce SOPs and IT governance, and manage infrastructure improvement projects including budgeting and scheduling.
• Maintain accurate inventory of hardware and software, expedite repairs, and coordinate with suppliers.
• Supervise, train and mentor junior IT staff, and provide technical assistance to project teams.

Required profile

• Degree with top marks in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 5‑10 years of relevant IT experience, preferably in fast‑paced environments.
• Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and outside normal business hours.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of PC hardware and troubleshooting.
• Windows desktop (7/8/10) and Windows Server (2012+) administration.
• Microsoft Office support and Active Directory administration.
• Experience with routers, switches, firewalls and LAN/Wi‑Fi configuration.
• Familiarity with Android devices, Microsoft Navision, IIS, SharePoint.
• Cloud services experience, particularly AWS.
