Security Engineer

About the role

DevRecruit Consulting is hiring a Security Engineer in Lagos (Marina) for a full-time position in enterprise security technical support. The role covers second-level support, administration of cybersecurity platforms, deployment support, vendor management, incident reporting and customer engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide second-level technical support for enterprise security solutions and investigate, troubleshoot and resolve escalated security incidents within agreed SLAs
• Perform system diagnostics, security log analysis, network traffic analysis and root-cause analysis, and guide first-level engineers
• Install, configure, upgrade and maintain cybersecurity platforms, run health checks and preventive maintenance, and validate policies, rules and configurations
• Support backup, restoration, disaster recovery and high-availability activities
• Support deployment, PoC, PoV, testing, acceptance testing and post-deployment validation of security solutions
• Engage OEM and vendor support teams, track escalated cases and document vendor recommendations
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, knowledge-base articles and incident reports
• Keep customers informed and take part in customer meetings, workshops and service reviews
• Monitor deployed solutions and support SIEM, EDR/XDR, DLP, IAM/PAM, WAF, DAM, NDR and vulnerability management; take part in planned maintenance and on-call duties

Required profile

• HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
• 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations or enterprise security technical support
• Demonstrable experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise security solutions
• Preferred: experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR, DLP, IAM/PAM, WAF, NDR, vulnerability and cloud security, and security orchestration and automation
• Preferred certifications: CompTIA Security+ or CySA+, CSA, CEH, Microsoft, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco CyberOps Associate or vendor-specific ones

Required skills

• Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls and network traffic analysis
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux
• Experience analysing security logs, investigating incidents and resolving technical issues
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and customer service skills
