Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack, Web3 & Payments)

About the role

Lak-Che is looking for a senior software engineer in Lagos to take ownership of its KonectX codebase and turn it into a completed, documented and tested product. The role covers a React (Vite) frontend, a Node.js/Express API and MongoDB, and includes the operator dashboard, revenue settlement, payment integrations and Web3 layer. It suits someone who has shipped production web apps and is comfortable owning uptime and security.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of the KonectX codebase and bring it to a finished, documented and tested state.
• Build and complete the operator dashboard: hotspot management, voucher issuance, session monitoring and earnings visibility.
• Implement and maintain the revenue settlement engine: multi-party splits, credit maturation windows, payout requests and an auditable ledger.
• Integrate payment rails for Nigeria and Francophone markets, including card, bank transfer and mobile money.
• Work on captive portal and router-side integration so sessions are recorded reliably even on unstable links.
• Maintain and improve the Web3 layer: $KXT balance accrual, distribution jobs and wallet-facing views on Celo.
• Own deployment and uptime on the VPS estate: nginx, PM2, Cloudflare, environment and secret hygiene, backups, monitoring and incident response.
• Write documentation as you go, keeping engineering knowledge in Confluence.
• Work with the CISO to close outstanding security items and keep the platform compliant with the NDPA 2023.

Required profile

• 5 years building and shipping production web applications, with at least 2 years of genuine full-stack ownership.
• Has deployed and operated their own servers.
• Has written code that handles money and understands why it is different.
• Can pick up an unfamiliar codebase, understand it and improve it without breaking it.
• Clear written English; preferred: Web3 experience (ERC-20, EVM, ethers.js or viem, Celo), African payment integrations (Paystack, Flutterwave, mobile money), captive portals/RADIUS/MikroTik/OpenWRT, and experience as the most senior engineer on a product.

Required skills

• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, deep Node.js and Express experience.
• React, including hooks, state management and modern build tooling such as Vite.
• Real MongoDB experience: schema design, indexing, aggregation.
• Linux, nginx, process managers, TLS, DNS and reverse proxies.
• Git discipline, code review habits and writing tests that catch real regressions.
