IT Officer

About the role

A tourism and travel company based in Lagos, Nigeria, is hiring a full-time IT Officer through its recruitment partner. The role covers day-to-day IT support, website and digital platform upkeep, basic IT security and data management, and reporting on IT activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for computers, printers, internet, email, software and office equipment, and install, configure, update and maintain systems and applications.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Monitor the company website and digital platforms, document and escalate errors, booking issues and broken links, and coordinate with external developers on maintenance, upgrades and integrations.
• Test booking features such as one-way, return and multi-city flight searches where applicable.
• Implement basic IT security measures (antivirus updates, access controls, password management, data protection) and support regular data backups and data recovery.
• Maintain records of IT issues, repairs, updates and maintenance, prepare periodic IT performance, maintenance and incident reports, and guide staff on using IT equipment and systems.

Required profile

• OND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Practical experience in IT support, system maintenance, networking or technical troubleshooting.
• Ability to prioritise technical issues and work with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365 or equivalent office tools, printers and network troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of website management, hosting, domain management and cybersecurity.
• Advantage: knowledge of website testing, APIs, booking systems or travel technology integrations.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation and organisational skills.
